Hands on Art is on the Tinker / Maker Train
Hands On Art provides unique and meaningful art programming for all ages. We have an entertaining, educational and welcoming environment that ignites a passion for learning and offers an extraordinary experience. We offer a dynamic and constantly-evolving program in these fields and incorporate them with environmental and social issues in our community.
Hands On Art has been raising funds to purchase equipment to build a state of the STEAM area where our rural community can go and create any project, using machinery for woodworking and metalworking, 3-D printers, and more. Rolla does offer STEM, but we would like to have a LOCAL HANDS ON facility that offers STE"A"M (Science Technology Engineering "ART" Math) to our community.
Hands On Art this month has stepped up and met some similar minded groups with similar goals in their communities to share spaces that offer STEAM programming
We were invited and attended the 2nd annual Barnes & Noble Mini Maker Faire that is a national event where all BN Stores celebrate MAKING. The Mini Maker Faire at Barnes & Noble brings together tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, engineers, science club members, students, entrepreneurs, hobbyists and Makers of all kinds to learn from each other, get craft ideas and science fair project ideas, hear the experts, and work on projects.
Hands On Art Studio & Gallery was excited to be a part of this event.
Hands On Art Studio & Gallery was happy to be invited and attended the first Makers Summit in support of the initiative from the White House Nation of Makers. This Maker Summit was an opportunity for manufacturers, city and state officials, educators, artists, and inventors to share ideas and network with others interested in the Maker Movement. Topics included The White House initiative- Nation of Makers , Maker Education, Maker to Manufacturing, along with various Makerspaces throughout the state sharing their experiences.
We were excited for this opportunity and have many resources and ways to make our Tinker/Maker Space awesome for our community of ROLLA!
